Scarlett Teng

Scarlett Teng is a registered Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of specialist experience in community mental health and neurodevelopmental care. A Fellow of the College of Mental Health Nurses Aotearoa, she brings exceptional depth of clinical knowledge to her role at Dr. Mind Psychology, where she leads the ADHD prescribing clinic, conducting comprehensive assessments and managing pharmacological treatment in line with the AADPA Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline (2024). Her practice includes rigorous cardiovascular safety screening and is shaped by extensive experiences. As a fluent Mandarin speaker, Scarlett provides culturally and linguistically responsive care that reduces the barriers to diagnosis and treatment so often faced by Chinese-speaking whānau across Aotearoa.
Beyond direct clinical work, Scarlett contributes to the mental health system at a national level. She develops and delivers mental health education for primary care clinicians nationwide, building capability in mental health presentation management, psychotropic prescribing, and culturally responsive practice. She also serves as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Training Lead within the Nurse Practitioner Training Support Scheme (NPTSS), supervising and mentoring nurse practitioners, and playing an active role in growing the next generation of prescribing-capable mental health nurse practitioners across Aotearoa.
